Always good to see the industry gathering at the other side of the ocean. This years GlobalShop was held in Chicago and before I could meet our US distributor at the show I bumped into the complete VCI/Rose Displays team whilst looking for a place to eat. What are the odds, when you know Chicago hosts 7,300 restaurants…

Anyway, great to catch up with the team and over dinner they got me excited about their new booth. Jef Hastings, VCI’s marketing manager redesigned the complete booth and he did a hell of a job. The next morning I was thrilled to see the result. Well done Jeff and his team, my eyes were searching for the Windo Displays products and there they were. The FloorWindo®, DeskWindo® and even B-line™ had prime spots at the booth.

Walking the GlobalShop meant seeing familiar faces and companies, saying hello and exchanging views about the trade. VKF Renzel our German reseller was exhibiting with their US branche mainly focussing on digital price tags. Or Pretty Sun, who sells our DeskWindo® in China, was promoting their gesture control feature. The general feeling was very positive, the growing economy has a positive effect on the troubling retail industry in general. Right now is the time for retailers to stand out and innovate. Get the people to the store and let them live the experience. They should leave the store with a bag full of goods and experiences. While the goods last, the experience will make them come back!

Anyway, good to see Windo Displays quality products got a lot of traction at the VCI/Rose booth, this will definitely boosts sales the coming months. To our other resellers I would say invest in online marketing, but don’t underestimate the power of a good trade show. After all that’s where all senses come together.
